SIGHTS & BUILDINGS OF SYDNEY

Sydney has many various heritage listed buildings like Sydney Town Hall, the Queen Victoria Building, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Tower.

The Sidney Town Hall is a building in the heart of Sydney. It stands opposite the Queen Victoria Building and was built in 1880 from the yellow sandstone of stonemasons. The building has over 100 rooms, but the architect of the building could not be appointed yet.

The Queen Victoria Building was built in 1898 by the architect George Mc Rae in the central business district of Sydney.
The building is 30 meters wide and 190 meters long.
The Queen Victoria Building is a shopping centre where you can find numerous shops. That’s why Pierre Cardin described that building as the best shopping center in the world.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was designed and built by English firm Dorman Long in 1932. Because of its design the bridge is nicknamed "The Coathanger" (Der Kleiderbügel). The bridge has a span of 503 meter and a height of around 135 meters and is one of the world longest bridges.

The Sydney Tower is in Sydney’s tallest-freestanding building and the second tallest in Australia. The tower was finished in 1981 and is 305 meters high. It provides an overview of the whole city. It has a viewing platform and two revolving restaurants, but the ascent is only with extensive security check possible.
